MY STORY

Meet Carolyn.

I am a retired teacher. I taught 10 years in Albuquerque, NM and 25 years in Dexter, NM.  My husband, Joe, and I were married for almost 35 years.  We have three children: Barbara, Claudette and Fred. After Joe past away, I moved to Tomball, Tx to be closer to family. There, I continued to teach 6 and half years at Concordia Lutheran High School. I moved to Ridgewood, NJ in 2007.  I now have 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren (my greatest accomplishment).

I began making crafts from jeans over 30 years ago.  I now make quilts using souvenir t-shirts and jeans.  All of my quilts are one-of-a-kind.  I usually have themes: teams, colleges, lighthouses, fish, musicians, comics, sports etc. I make my quilts from my home, but I also show my quilts at arts and craft shows in the New Jersey and New York area.  I love taking specials orders.  If a customer has souvenir shirts, they can mail them to me or come by my home.

I love make the quilts because each one tells a different story. I truly enjoy seeing how every new quilt owner is over-joyed with the quilt and added space in their bureaus and closets. Besides quilting, I enjoy tennis, Bible study, reading, gardening and swimming (these help me to stay out of trouble).
